A review meeting presided by the Revenue Minister
Sri:Adoor Prakash has decided to ease the restrictions on entry of tourists to
Gavi from Pathanamthitta and to develop the infrastructure facilities there.
The meeting was conducted at the District Collectorate, Pathanamthitta. A
holistic tourism package will also be chalked out in order to facilitate
tourists from the district headquarters to Gavi. Parking facilities will be
arranged near Angamoozhy, the gateway to Gavi. The Minister also informed those
present there that an amount of two crores is being allotted already for the
developmental activities in Gavi and Kochu Pamba. Another Meeting chaired by
the Chief Minister, including both Electricity and Tourism Ministers will also
be organized to decide further steps. KFDC will take care of the construction
of a Swiss Cottage, Boat Jetty and a
Museum in Gavi. The decisions pending before the Apex Court and the Union
Ministry on Kasturirangan & Madhav Gadgil committe reports on Western Ghats
Conservation may affect the development activities.
