PSLV C-25 lifted off 'Mangalyaan', India's first Mars Orbiter at 2.38 pm from Satish Dawan Space Centre, Srikarikotta. 'Mangalyaan' weighs about 1,350 Kg will revolve around the Earth until December 1 and thereafter starts its journey towards Mars orbit. ISRO expects the orbiter will reach Mars orbit by September 14, 2014. It has to travel 400 crore kilo meters with its five payloads. If this becomes a success, India will be in the list of nations sending an orbiter towards Mars, after European Union, America and Russia. Our political executive is so eager to see such a victory before China and Japan could accomplish. Marine - 4 is the first orbiter to sent information to Earth from Mars in 1965, which was built by America. 'Curiosity' also an American mission landed Mars in last year is still engaged in Mars. 'Mangalyaan' have to probe Mars for at least six months. PSLV C-25 is believed to be ISRO's best launch vehicle which has a height of 144 feet.
